My name is Amit Ohri and I am the Founder and CEO of Shaadidates.com.

My academic and professional background spans over ten years which is recognized at an international level. I was born and raised in the United Kingdom and primarily educated there also. I have been residing in North America for the last few years. After attending and successfully completing my personal and professional education from three Universities and two technical institutes, I also became a Business Entrepreneur in 2002.

I founded Shaadidates.com after learning from my own interaction with online matrimonial and dating websites that there was still a large room for improvement. My learning, understanding and communicational abilities, made me realize just how much improvement could still be possible and I took the initiative to do something about this.

Simply put, there was one question that always came to mind as an average day-to-day online dater: Why did online matrimonial sites in particular reflect on the concept of matrimony and provide a lack of online dating mechanisms currently available on other regular dating websites around the world?

The answer became quite simple and evident after further research: A modern day proactive approach or initiative was yet to be taken in order to make the experience more real, practical and affordable through internet technologies currently available to us.

With the statement above and being a South Asian also, these thoughts primarily reflected the South Asian matrimonial websites. In essence, whether you are a matrimonial website or a regular dating website, for me, you are still hoping to communicate with someone you would like to get to know. In today’s modern society, if you are looking to get to know someone for a relationship cause, most would stick to describing this as dating someone. Depending on the level of comfort, it may evolve into a relationship before you decide to marry the person.

So keeping the above thoughts in mind, I came up with the term: Shaadidates which I hope is self-explanatory to the South Asian Community world-wide.

With the tools and networking capabilities on the internet today, as well as the future, it is my hope and continued efforts to provide an online system which will work effectively for all our members to enjoy a more practical experience of finding their dream partners in an effective manner.
